Jehu slays King Joram

Jehu slays King Joram

Joram said: "Make ready." His chariot was prepared, and together with Ahaziah, king of Judah, king Joram of Israel went forth to battle, and met Jehu in the land that had belonged to Naboth the Jezreelite.
And Jehu drew a bow with all his might and smote Joram between his arms and the arrow
went out at his heart, and he sank down in his chariot.
Then Jehu said to Bidkar, his captain: "Take him up and throw him into the field of Naboth the Jezreelite, for today the blood of Naboth and his sons has been avenged on his own ground."
When Ahaziah saw what had happened, he fled by way of a garden house, but Jehu followed and smote him; and he fled to Megiddo and died there.
Thus Jehu overcame both Joram of Israel and Ahaziah of Judah.

JEZEBEL IS KILLED

When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard about it.
She painted her face and dressed her hair and looked down from a window.
As Jehu entered through the city gate, she said: "Was there any peace for Zimri who killed his master?"
He looked up to the window and said: "Who is on my side?"
Two or three servants looked down at him, and he said: "Throw her down." So they threw her down, and he trod her underfoot.
When Jehu had come in, he ate and drank, and said: "Go, see now this accursed woman and bury her; for she is a king's daughter."
And thus was fulfilled the prophecy of Elijah the Tishbite concerning queen Jezebel.
